Club Rules

Our social club is about being naturally high and having fun!
In order to show respect of each other, other surfers in the water and The Surf Haberdashery itself, we all adhere to the following club rules:

Etiquette in the Water

  • First surfer on the wave has right of way
  • Keep to the sides and beyond the impact zone when not riding a wave
  • Communicate which way you are riding the wave
  • Stay mellow and put forward good vibes
  • Help any surfer in trouble and get buds to help too
  • Only get in if you feel sure of the conditions and yourself
  • You are 100% in charge of your life

Etiquette at all Gatherings

  • Be genuine, real and uplifting to each other
  • Focus on the present and your buds in front of you
  • Give the internet and all drama a rest (we are over-saturated)
  • Watch your language - no poop (s-word) and punch (f-word) please
  • No slander, gossip or negative talk
  • No addictive substances
  • No smoking of any kind or fragrances (severe allergies present)
  • Don't turn on bright LEDs or shine them in anyone's faces (severe photosensitivities present)
  • Don't be an anti-social one-armed zombie (phone stuck to hand)
  • Make your phones and devices invisible and inaudible
  • No media creation is allowed for any purpose without express permission from the owner (we aim to get our minds off tech)
  • All website, products and services are made and procured by SurfHab and are for personal use only, therefore rebroadcasting and posting online is not permitted unless the owner has partnered with you for new media creation. Word of mouth, links, business cards and flyers are available should you wish to spread the word. It is always appreciated!

The HarshMellow Jar

We all have etiquette mishaps. Thus, the jar called the "Harshmellow" jar has been created to make it fun to get good at following the club rules. Bring dollar bills to each meeting - when someone has a mishap, members are allowed to call out "Jar!!", then you must put some singles in. At the end of each month, we'll pool the money and buy something fun for the club. And maybe jar contributors will get to do some pushups as well.
